First Steps To A Successful Web Hosting Business
Posted on November 13, 2008 | Filed Under Business Ideas
The high demand on Web Hosting services ensures an extensive market that can be penetrated with reliable services and the right branding strategy that differentiates you from the clutter.
What should not be forgotten is that web hosting is a business like any other; requiring the entrepreneurs to follow subsequent business ethics and practices. The number of Web Hosting business may have saturated the industry, however few have attained success. This is mainly caused by the overall attitude that a Web Hosting business is an opportunity to make a quick buck. No successful business has ever been an opportunity to make a quick buck.
Moving on, the brand strategy relies on the steps you take to stand out and differentiate yourself from the competition. We shall leave this aspect of the business to you.
The services you choose however, relies completely on your service provider. The make or brake factor relies on the service provider you choose. The first step to choosing your service provider is that you must always look for the service provider that actually develops and maintains the services and products. Registrars are at the top on the chain. Registrars provide services to resellers who either serve registrants directly or resell these services to other resellers. Business sense dictates that Registrars are the sensible choice. Singing up with Registrars means drastic cut down on support time, increased reliability and most importantly premium services.
Even before you select your service provider, there are couple of things that you should consider:
- Check the efficiency of the customer support team of the service provider, in terms of how fast they respond to your query and issues. They are reachable at any point of time. To check this, you should call at odd hours and see if they easily available to listen to your queries or issues.
- How reliable are the service providers. You will have to check since how long they have been in the industry. There are many good companies which provide a certain amount of uptime depending upon which offer you have chosen. For example: They may offer an uptime of 95% for say $8 and 99% uptime for $12. It is better to pay more money than have any problem.
- Check the control panel as it is the integral part, wherein you can control the functioning of the website. With a proper control panel, you can password protect directories, prevent image hotlinking, block certain IP addresses from coming to your site.
- Check out the storage capacity of the server. If you will be loading the website with heavy files then you will have to check the limitation.
- Check the bandwidth. There are packages which allow you to upgrade if you want to.
- Check the statistics of your website. This will help you understand, which keywords were used to come to your website, the browser types, from which company the visitors are from, which page they have visited the most on your website, etc. With good statistical analysis programs, you should also be able to view Raw Access Logs for your Site, Disk Usage, Bandwidth Usage, Web Traffic Statistics, Error Logs and visitors demographics.
- Email is an integral part of running a website. You will have to be expert in creating email addresses. Auto Responder, POP3 and Mail Forwarding is a must. It is not all that difficult if you have the rest of the tools. See to it that you have full control over your email hosting or you will have to be dependent on the service provider.
- Check how much you will be paying each month. There are web hosting packages that range from $4.95 to $9.95 per month, which would satisfy the basic necessities. There are websites which give out offers throughout the year. Consider & understand all the features offered by the service provider and choose a good package irrespective of the cost
If you plan to go for a free web hosting provider, than I would say it is not a good idea. There are many issues when it comes to free web hosting service providers, in terms of availability, service, and bandwidth. And there are these pop under ads that keep popping up, each time somebody visits your website. Hence it is advised that you should not compromise on the quality for some meager amount. - If you are looking for advanced hosting features then check out for MySQL and phpMyAdmin, PostgreSQL and phpPgAdmin, PHP, Perl, CGI, Python and Tomcat. If you are just entering the world of web hosting, I would suggest that you don’t look for these advanced features.
A few simple but essential decisive factors that dictate the success of your Web Hosting business.

Home Typing Jobs – Scam or the Real Deal?
Posted on October 30, 2008 | Filed Under Business Ideas, Online Business, Promotion and Marketing, Online Marketing
Within the last five years I have seen literally hundreds of ads for home typing and online data entry jobs. They all seem to say the same thing – “Make $250-$1000 a Day”. For a long time I thought to myself “yeah right”, There’s no way, this has to be scam! So after seeing them around for so long, I became curious and wanted to see for myself. I paid $47 for one of the more popular advertised programs and as soon as I got into the members area and read the first page, I was completely confused! I had no idea what they were talking about as I was a newbie to all this home typing and data entry stuff, So I immediately asked for a refund. A few months later I became friends with a girl from a forum that had the very same type of website. She explained the concept to me in a very simple way and then it all made sense so I joined. Let me tell you, after joining survey programs, doing MLM, ptc sites and everything else you could think of, this was by far the best program I had ever done.
I can tell you from experience that home typing jobs are not a scam and it is possible to make $300+ a day. However, they are not for everyone. If you are looking to get rich overnight or start out making hundreds of dollars a day in your first week then forget it. It’s not gonna happen. You have to put in the work as with any other job on the planet.
Here are Some Basic Q and A’s About Home Typing Jobs
#1 Why do we have to pay to Have a Job?
Answer – They charge you a one time fee for their one on one training, not for the jobs themselves as this is more considered a “business opportunity”.
#2 If it is so easy, why isn’t everyone doing it?
Answer – Most successful online entrepreneurs are doing this, you just don’t realize it.
#3 If They Make So Much Money, Why Can’t They Train You For Free?
Answer – Because they are not in the business of charity I presume. I know it sounds cold but you don’t become successful by giving things away.
So my final evaluation obviously is no, home typing jobs are not a scam. You can make an honest income doing this type of work f/t or p/t. This is honestly one of the most popular ways to make money on the internet today. But just remember that it is not a “Get Rich Quick Scheme”.
If you looking for a legitimate home typing job, I have listed a genuine company below that I highly recommend. Please view my resource box below.

Simple Steps on How to Start a Wholesale Clothing Business
Posted on September 15, 2008 | Filed Under Business Ideas
Now when we start a business, what is the usual reason on why we start it? Is it to help in providing jobs to those who have none or just wanted to make a huge profit from it? Well if you choose the first one than the later, you’re being too modest. The reason why a lot of business men or women start their own businesses is make a profit, and a huge one at that.
Profit is the main reason why individuals set out to start their own businesses. It is their main goal. There have been many individuals that started their own businesses, especially in line with clothing.
Clothing is one of the biggest industries today when it comes to the world of business. This is because of its never ending demand, and by it, never ending profit. Many felt very satisfied in their businesses, but so are failures too. This is why when we start a certain business; we must plan it through carefully and decisively.
So to start a business of wholesale clothing, it is important that you make the necessary plans and steps on how to approach it. Here are some simple steps on how to start your very own Wholesale clothing business, without the worry of failing.
• What to Sell?
o First of all, you must think of what product to sell, in this case clothes. Now why do we want to sell clothes if we could choose another? Well I’m not imploring to you to sell clothes when it comes to wholesaling. But to gain a huge profit, one must know how to take advantage on what people want, and people always, and I mean “always”, wants clothes. Clothes are among of the goods that are always in demand.
o Also, setting up and maintaining a wholesale clothing business is much easier than other kinds of wholesale businesses.
o Always keep in mind that for a business to be successful, one must know how to target what people want and how they wanted it.
• Your Dealers
o It is important to keep a long list of connections with dealers because this is the essence of starting a business of wholesaling. Dealers are where we gain our profits. It is them that distribute our stocks to the consumers.
o When you are new in this kind of business line, it is wise that you should first target those dealers that are near to you. It save’s more time and money on shipping.
o It is also important that you talk to your dealers in person rather than your secretary or voicemail. This is important so as to build the necessary relationship between your business and theirs.
o But be warned. Before entering an agreement with a dealer or distributor, make sure that all the legal documents that permit them in selling your stock are arranged properly. This can ensure security on your business.
• Ask for Advise
o If you are new to this kind of business, or in any kind of business, it is advisable that you seek some advices to someone that has an experience handling a wholesale clothing business.
o You can learn a lot from other’s experiences in handling a business. You can learn how to maintain your business properly, or learn how to manage your profit, or better yet, learn from their mistakes so if you every encounter them, you’ll know what to do and how to react on it.
• Where to Store?
o It is important that we keep a stock of all of our products in cases where item shortage or emergency orders from our dealers come by. This is one of the most important characteristic that a wholesale clothing business must posses.
o This is a major cause for a lot of wholesale clothing or other wholesaling businesses to fail in their businesses. This is because of “Integrity”.
o Reliability is what dealers want with wholesalers. Being unable to provide them their stocks on time could cause them to switch to other wholesalers that can provide them with the services that they needed. So it is important for us to have somewhere to store our stocks in case this happens.
o You should buy or rent a warehouse where you could store all of your stocks.
o It is also important that the warehouse are easily accessible and one that has labor saving approaches to material handling.
• Providing Credits
o It is usual that some dealers can’t pay you upon delivering their stocks. So wholesalers put up credits.
o By offering favorable terms of payment and perhaps a higher credit limit than that of your competitors, you could attract potential dealers to your business.
o This is also an important characteristic that dealers want in a supplier. Being able to provide them an advantage that others can’t.
o But still, be mindful of what advantages you give to your dealers. It does serve advantageous for them, but if it jeopardizes your own business, then all will be useless.
o Another thing, do forget that there are dealers that will take advantage on your business if you trust them so freely. Remember, a business is always a business.
These are some of the tips and steps that you should take into mind when you want to start your own business of wholesale clothing or any other businesses that involves wholesaling. It is simple at first glance, but all of it needs our utmost attention and care.
But the most important part of handling a wholesale clothing business, or any other businesses at that, is confidence in one’s self. Discouragement is any business’s worse enemy, so be confident, and face all adversities strategically.
