Procrastination vs. Resistance: Get Unstuck and Move Forward Faster
Posted on November 20, 2008 | Filed Under Motivation
Oftentimes, what looks like procrastination is more accurately called “resistance”.
If you’re an entrepreneur, healer or artist who’s “stuck”, who feels like you’re in a loop of procrastination, what may be happening is “resistance”. What you’re seeing as the negative of “procrastination” is very probably your inner voice trying to guide you on an easier path to success.
By reframing the experience as something that is actually working for your greater good and the good of those around you, you allow the solution to show itself.
By reframing procrastination as resistance, you get to move forward.
What usually happens…and why you stay stuck
Perhaps you’re an entrepreneur and you see something in your business that you think needs to be done, but you don’t do it.
You’re doing anything but “the thing that needs to be done”. You do the dishes, you pick lint off the floor…but you don’t do the “thing”.
Then you start to beat yourself up about not doing “the thing”. You talk to yourself about it. You tell yourself that “the thing” really isn’t that hard which then leads to more self-denigration because you say, “If it’s not hard, then what’s wrong with me?”
You ask yourself more questions, trying to figure out what’s going on. You ask yourself, “Why do I procrastinate?”, and in this state of mind, you typically get answers like, “Because I’m lazy… because I don’t know what I’m doing…because I don’t know what to do next.”
(Always be careful of the questions you ask because you will get answers. It’s the way the world works. Ask a question that’s going to get you positive results.)
We compound the struggle by calling resistance “procrastination”, and then we proceed to pound ourselves for being “bad”.
Beating yourself up accomplishes nothing except keeping you stuck, keeping you where you are with your current results…or lack thereof.
Both procrastination and resistance involve struggle. In one, the struggle has a negative feel to it. In the other, the struggle points you to your path.
Here’s the difference.
Resistance – what you’re currently calling procrastination – is actually, many times, your soul’s wisdom trying to tell you that you are “off path”, that you’re trying to force a situation…that you’re struggling unnecessarily.
When you realize that procrastination is merely resistance, and it’s trying to point you to an easier way, one with fewer struggles, then you can become grateful. When you get to gratitude in any situation, even uncomfortable ones, you get to move forward at lightning speed.
Resistance isn’t because you’re lazy or lack knowledge or any of those reasons.
How to handle resistance
Recognize resistance for what it is…an attempt at your higher self to keep you on your path. It’s an attempt to show you a better way, a more joyful way, a way that’s true for you.
The resistance may be a sign that the action you are avoiding is not “spirit guided” or maybe it’s just not quite the right time. It can be a sign that the action is not the next step or that the deal is not the right one.
So, ask, “If I’m avoiding this step because it’s not the right step, then what is the next step?” Be willing to release the current plan.
If you know that the next step is the one you need to take and you still resist, then the resistance is pointing out a fear. We were not meant to live in fear. So ask, “What is the fear I need to release?” In this case, the resistance is leading you to greater freedom.
So if you’re an entrepreneur, healer, artist or other business owner, and your business is stalling. Stop calling it procrastination. Stop beating yourself up.
Call it resistance and ask, “What am I resisting doing, being, or letting go?” Let this resistance guide you to a greater knowledge of yourself. Let it guide you to easier action and a more “struggle free” existence.
Let resistance guide you to greater success.

“Healing Your Self-Esteem Issues, By Choosing Different Words”
Posted on November 20, 2008 | Filed Under Motivation
Healing your self-esteem and accepting your value in the world WILL transform your life. About 85% of the people on this planet suffer from some kind of low self esteem problem and because of those issues are struggling to achieve their desires. What you say is a reflection of how you “feel” inside. When you decide to consciously select a different word choice IT WILL have a positive effect on your inside and outside perception of yourself.
How do I know? Well, all my life I have experience self worth issues. When I began using my intuition to consciously choose what to say and how to think differently my life changed. Thanks to building my self-esteem, I trust myself, have a successful career that I love and get paid well for, and have relationships that support me.
Here are a few simple ways you can use to improve your self-esteem by choosing different words:
1. Stop Saying I’m Sorry
How many times a day to you utter the words, “I’m sorry?” Ask yourself what are you saying sorry for? Are the words “I’m sorry” an automatic statement that you find yourself saying? The formal definition of SORRY means feeling regret, sorrow and grief. Do you feel regret, sorrow or grief for being a couple of minutes late to a meeting? Using this phrase over and over again will lead to feelings of disempowerment.
Replace “I’m sorry” with “I apologize.” According to Merriam-Webster, APOLOGY “implies not admission of guilt or regret but a desire to make clear the grounds for some course, belief, or position.”
2. Turn “You are Right” into “You are Correct”
As you develop your self-esteem you will come to understand that we are all of value – each and every one of us. People with low self-esteem can use the words, “you are right” to judge themselves.
That someone being “correct” about a subject doesn’t mean that someone else is wrong. Consciously choosing to use “you are correct” instead of “you are right” is a form of validation and is empowering to the user. What you are doing is acknowledging that another person provided you with a correct fact or information, rather than feeling like someone as won and someone as lost.
3. Removing the Buts
When you use BUT in a sentence it negates the first intention of that sentence, for example: I love you BUT….
We often use BUT to deny what we are feeling. A good example of this is: “I’m sad that he lied to me BUT I can understand why.” How can we improve our self-worth when we are denying how we feel about a situation? The suggested replacement is the word AND. By removing the word BUT from the sentence allows you to ownership of how you feel and what you mean. “I’m sad that he lied to me AND I can understand why.” Do you feel the difference in how this statement feels by simply replacing the word BUT?
Now you have several tools to start building your self-esteem and you can begin to accept your true nature of power and value.

Are Things Working Out for You? Three Simple and Life Changing Keys for Success with Ease
Posted on November 20, 2008 | Filed Under Motivation
“Things are always working out for me” was the core of a daily quote from Abraham I got a while back! Imagine living your life knowing that is true. If you did what would be different for you?
“Knowing” is key in this equation. Because the truth is, things are always working out for you. If you are willing to believe that things are always working out for you and get into the habit of looking for ways that this is true, you will find evidence every day in both large and small ways. You will come to experience the truth of this – it is sweet experience that will change your life.
Where Do I Start?
There are three simple keys to experience how things are always working out for you as a way of life. I suggest you start with the mantra, “Things are always working out for me.”
Mantras are words or phrases that people resonate with and repeat regularly. They carry a powerful vibration that can transform your consciousness over time. I find the energy of this mantra to be joyful, light and subtly powerful. In addition to repeating it as you think of it, also try writing it down first thing in the morning.
The next key is in the second paragraph. Be willing to believe. I don’t say “believe” first, because willing something to be true doesn’t always work. There are reasons for this that have to do with subconscious fear and beliefs at work.
Trying to will belief into being can create big resistance from fears and limiting beliefs. Besides that you don’t need to work hard at this.
Willingness to believe is much easier. Willingness is like taking off the armor of resistance. It is also the key which opens the door of possibility to a different way. The energy of willingness is similar to the energy of allowing. Our good is always at the door ready to come in, or out. Sometimes it’s as simple as allowing it to do so.
The third key is also in the second paragraph – look for evidence of how things “are” working out for you. A willingness to believe that things are working out for you and then looking for evidence that this is true can transform your life from one of effort and struggle to one of ease and joy.
Sometimes the evidence may require putting on a different pair of glasses. What could have looked like things not working out is actually the universe at work for you. I took my car in today for a check up before a 2900 mile drive to my new home in Tucson. The trunk is packed with boxes I am taking.
The manager right away found an unexpected leak in the engine that could be too serious as to repair. While I could have interpreted this as things not working out, I realized that I was being taken care of to discover the problem here rather than while on the road. “Things are always working out for me.”
Sometimes the evidence is obvious. When I checked my voice mail later, I had a message from a friend who had been told by another friend what was going on with my car. She has just bought a new car and offered to give me the one she had been driving which is in excellent mechanical condition. She had been planning to donate it but hadn’t yet. I became the recipient. Whatever the news is about my car, I will be driving to Tucson without delay. “Things are always working out for me.”
If you use these 3 simple keys, you can and will change your life. “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” The truth is things are always working out for you.
Step Into Your Greatness and notice how things are always working out for you.

The Only 3 Things That Matter (to Your Business)
Posted on June 12, 2008 | Filed Under Business Management, Motivation, Revenue Generation
by Mark Joyner, #1 Bestselling Author of The Irresistible Offer
Ok, that’s a pompous statement, but try as I might, I haven’t been able to break it.
If you want to grow your business, there are really only three ways to do it. If what you’re doing doesn’t somehow fit into one of these three categories, it’s probably a waste of your time.
I refer to these three elements as: Intensity, Efficiency, and Regeneration.
Intensity is the rate at which you get eyeballs looking at your offer.
Efficiency is your ability to convert those eyeballs into money.
Regeneration is your ability to turn those who you’ve converted into more money (either through additional back end selling or the referral of additional customers).
I was thinking about saying more in this article, but that kind of defeats the purpose.
During the time you would have spent reading the extra padding, why not stop for a moment and ponder. Can you think of anything relevant that happens in your company that doesn’t fit into any of these three categories?
Hint: key word here is “relevant.”
