The Only 3 Things That Matter (to Your Business)

Ok, that’s a pompous statement, but try as I might, I haven’t been able to break it.

If you want to grow your business, there are really only three ways to do it. If what you’re doing doesn’t somehow fit into one of these three categories, it’s probably a waste of your time.

I refer to these three elements as: Intensity, Efficiency, and Regeneration.

Intensity is the rate at which you get eyeballs looking at your offer.

Efficiency is your ability to convert those eyeballs into money.

Regeneration is your ability to turn those who you’ve converted into more money (either through additional back end selling or the referral of additional customers).

I was thinking about saying more in this article, but that kind of defeats the purpose.

During the time you would have spent reading the extra padding, why not stop for a moment and ponder. Can you think of anything relevant that happens in your company that doesn’t fit into any of these three categories?

Hint: key word here is “relevant.”

This Plugin Increases Membership Conversions

One of the many tools available that I absolutely love is Amember
( http://www.Linkora.com/Amember/ ) from CGI-Central. Amember not only manages my membership sites, it also handles digital product sales, delivery, and protection.

For instance, it protects download pages, offers backend sales and automation, allows protection of “external” folders and files, and it even comes with a built-in autoresponder. (And that’s just a partial list.)

I use Amember with WordPress for my membership sites, such as, for example, the all-new Success Chef University, among many others.

But Amember does have its flaws…

The 3 Reasons Why Your Customers are Ignoring You

It’s an easy to remember acronym: OII
It stands for Overload, Intelligence and Impatience.

The antidote has a similarly simple formula – more about that in a moment. Each of these three elements is deeply intertwined with the other, and there is in fact one root cause, as you’ll soon discover.

1. Overload

You already know “information overload” is a chronic symptom of the information age. Go figure!

Forced Continuity: A Different Perspective

By Michel Fortin

Preamble: In response to some excellent rebuttals as well as countless comments I’ve received on my previous post, “The Real Sinister Side of Forced Continuity,” I believe some people are missing the point of my argument, and I want to clarify a few things.

I’m not a lawyer by any stretch. But as a copywriter and business owner, I do know the rules enough to know that there’s a difference between “optional continuity,” “forced continuity,” and “hidden continuity.”

Optional continuity is self-explanatory. Forced continuity is a very common marketing practice (I’m not a fan of it, but I don’t mind it). In fact, there’s nothing wrong with forced continuity in and of itself.

What’s wrong is when it’s used in a wrong way.

How I Earned My Freedom and Quit My Job

Posted on March 4, 2008 | Filed Under Business Management, Online Marketing, Productivity, Revenue Generation

Recently my online business has started making enough money to
enable me to leave my job and strike out entirely on my own. I have
had to work hard to be able to get to this point, but I attribute my
ability to leave my job to the 3 things below (they’re things you can
do too):

1. Low expense
lifestyle. My family has moved and managed to reduce our expenses and
rent to zero. Insurance, groceries and petrol are now our biggest
expenses. Try to tackle the expenses with a once off downside in
exchange for an ongoing upside. Avoid cutting expense where they
require the opposite.

2. Give yourself time. I’ve
had to spend a few hours each day working on the business in order to
get to this point. This meant I had to reprioritize a few things. Easy
to eliminate things like TV and sleeping in were out. Just those 2
things enabled me to gain the skills I needed to start earning a basic
level of income before ever taking the risk of going out on my own.

3. Have a backup plan in place. I made sure I
didn’t burn any bridges and did my work until the very last day of my
job, just to make sure I’m welcome back. My backup plan is very
simple. Go back to my former employer and contract with them for 3-6
months. The money I make during that time is enough to tide me over
for an entire year. Find something you could do in order to make ends
meet if things don’t go as well as you hope. Keep it close to you to
give yourself the courage to strike out on your own.

Those are the 3 things I did in order to build
my skills and reduce my fears to the point where I confidently struck
out on my own. They are really easy to do but they may be emotionally
difficult, especially if you are addicted to TV or really tied to a
certain area. If striking out on your own is your number 1 priority,
doing the 3 things above will speed you on your way.
